Ordinary domain, hosting, and tool costs are paid directly by the buyer to the providers they choose. After handoff, new work is optional at $250 an hour—or the buyer can hire anyone.

A Lodi expert reviews the four stories currently marked for community verification before they are published as settled work.

Listening pass
Every chapter receives a final phone-and-headphones audio check, with any distracting blemish corrected.
Rights check
Every image and attribution is confirmed for transfer; anything uncertain is licensed or replaced.

Why I built it
A note from Jason La Barbera
I’m an independent California product builder focused on place-based experiences. I created Lodi Story after realizing how much history survives in downtown Lodi but remains easy to walk past without knowing what happened there.
My goal is not to keep a Lodi institution dependent on me. It is to place this working asset with someone local who will care for it, improve it, and make it useful. If you later want my help adding something, I’m available at $250 an hour—but the project remains yours, and you can work with anyone.

Transfer terms are documented in a straightforward asset-purchase agreement. The buyer controls the Lodi edition, domain, deployment, and project files. Reusable non-Lodi production methods remain with the creator. A 30-day warranty covers defects present at accepted handoff; later enhancements are optional at $250 an hour, and the buyer may use anyone. Because lodistory.com was recently registered at GoDaddy, it can be moved immediately to another GoDaddy account; transfer to a different registrar becomes available after the standard registry lock ends.
